Terms & Conditions
Welcome to Glimmers Within. These Terms and Conditions establish the boundaries of the therapeutic relationship, ensuring a safe, respectful, and productive environment for both the client and the therapist. By accessing our services, you agree to the following terms:
Terms & Conditions - the basics
-
Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years old or possess explicit parental consent to use our services.
-
Nature of Service & Emergencies: Our services provide mental health support, but are not a substitute for medical or psychiatric treatment. This platform is not for crisis management. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services immediately.
-
Appointments & Payments: Cancellations or rescheduling require at least 24 hours' notice. Missed sessions without notice are chargeable. All fees must be paid as communicated prior to the session and are non-refundable once a session begins.
-
Mutual Respect & Boundaries: We enforce a zero-tolerance policy for abuse, harassment of any kind, threats, or stalking. Therapists will strictly maintain professional boundaries and will not engage on personal social media.
-
Public Interactions: To protect your privacy, if you encounter your therapist in a public setting, they will not initiate contact or greet you first.
-
Website Use & Liability: You agree to use the website responsibly. Glimmers Within is not liable for outcomes beyond the scope of professional counseling or for delays due to unforeseen circumstances. By using our services, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Glimmers Within from any claims or damages arising from your use.
-
Termination & Modification: We reserve the right to terminate services immediately if a client violates these terms or compromises the therapist's safety. We may modify these terms at any time without prior notice.
Privacy Policy
Your privacy and safety are our top priorities. Here is how we handle your data:
-
Data Collection & Confidentiality: We collect basic details (name, contact, preferences) for scheduling. We may use cookies to improve website experience (which you can disable). Your session information is strictly confidential and will never be sold, shared, or distributed without your consent.
-
Limits of Confidentiality (Safety Exceptions): Therapists are legally and ethically mandated to break confidentiality only in the following extreme scenarios:
-
Imminent risk of harm to yourself or a specific, identifiable other.
-
Reasonable suspicion of abuse/neglect of a child, elderly, or dependent adult.
-
A direct court order (subpoena) requiring records.
-
-
Security & Communications: We use secure software for telehealth and records. However, standard email and SMS text messaging are not perfectly secure; by using them to contact us, you accept the associated privacy risks.
-
Privacy in Public Spaces: Your identity as a client is entirely confidential. Your therapist will never acknowledge you or your relationship to them in public unless you approach them first. This prevents family members, friends, or acquaintances who may be with you from asking how you know the therapist, thereby keeping your decision to seek therapy completely private.
-
Your Rights: You have the right to request a copy of your clinical records, request corrections to your factual data, and ask questions regarding how your data is processed.
